This morning in Berlin, 12 July, 21012, I tracked down the guesthouse Christopher Isherwood lived in during the final days of the Wiemar Republic. There's not much to see, just a plaque. The translation goes something like... "Here, between March 1929 and Jan/Feb 1933, lived the English author

His novels Farewell to Berlin and Mr. Norris Changes Trains are based on his experiences during this period. The musical Cabaret was inspired by both novels."
